Why We Decided to Create Separate Edits

Myself and Emily both decided to create our own individual edits using the footage that we collectively gathered. This is because we wanted Amanda to have options when deciding on weather to use the films. By having options we felt that Amanda would be more satisfied with the outcome and feel like we both put the time spent filming to good use. It also gave us both the opportunity to practice using Adobe Premiere Pro and allowed us to both create our own separate versions for what we wanted the video to look like but also bounce off the other and get inspired by what the other is producing. Another reason for creating two separate videos is security, a few members of our HNC class have lost work in the past without it being saved properly and we did not was our project to fall victim to a technical error! So we both had a version of the edited footage just to be extra safe.

Above I have attached both mine and Emily's rough cuts of the promotional video, we are both proud of what we have separately create but still agree that both could improve. After getting feedback from Amanda who was very happy with our work we both decided to go back to editing and just double check that all the cuts are clean and it keep to the promise of looking professional. Emily has decided to change one of the clips she used in her video because I am visible in the background and we both decided to change the ending slightly. Besides these few changes we are both happy that our client is happy and feel that we have achieved what we have set out to do.
