Filming - Promo vid

Preparing to Film

After extensive planning I then was able to organise dates and times for when Emily and I could go to the studios to film. Amanda was very accommodating and helpful, she was very comfortable with us filming the classes as long as we were not disturbing the customers. We organised to film four classes (one beginners hoop, one advanced hoop, one advanced pole and one improver hammock).

Emily also created a Gantt chart so that we can stay on top of filming. This helped us to stick to a schedule and ensure that deadlines were met, it was also helpful because we were able to keep Amanda up to date with what we were planning to do and when we needed to film.

We also organised to go to the studios to get interviews with some of the students because we want to have a narrative aspect of our promotional video. Here are a list of questions that we prepared to ask:
What do you like about the studios?
What do you like about the instructors?
What do you like about the community/support?
why do you come to the studios?
what made you join?
would you recommend the studios, why?

During the process of recording the interviews our microphone that we borrowed from college died (the spare battery we bought also died). Fortunately for us, Emily had downloaded a voice recording app on her phone prior to the evening of filming and so we were able to use her phone to get the interviews that we needed.  Because of this the quality sound in our videos is not as good as it could be but I think that the process showed that we can cope with problem solving and still have an outcome that is to a high standard.

Above are images taken while on shoot for the promo video, we originally had an idea to use photographs in the final edit as like a 'snapshot' into the lessons and to showcase the individuals and their talents. We later decided that we did not have enough good images and having images flash up quickly on screen did not fit the music we selected. Never the less we can still use the photos as evidence of filming.

Above are two examples of the release forms we got signed, we collected over 20 of these and everyone in the studio was happy to be filmed and help which was super encouraging!
